Description

"The sign said that I'd be there 10 miles ago... damn it," Matthew said nervously as he drove down the long, empty, desert road. He was trying to find a place to stay for the night, but the desert was unforgiving and the signs were outdated.

A coughing noise could be heard coming from Matthew's car, "No... Damn it, DAMN IT! Shit..." the car puffed along a few more feet before it came to a halt. It was out of gas.

With no other choice, Matthew got out of his car and tried looking for help in the vicinity. The sun was beginning to set, and it was starting to get cold. He searched for what seemed like hours, but to no avail. Matthew decided it'd be best to return to his car before it was completely dark, and ran back to make it before the sun fell.

Upon returning to the vehicle, Matthew started to feel a little uneasy. He felt as though he was being watched, "who's there?" He shouted, keeping his back to his car door.

Matthew thought he saw something on the other side of his car, so he turned quickly and nearly caught the silhouette of a person before it vanished. Matthew snapped his head back in front of him and saw the figure standing before him. It was hard to make out, but Matthew could see the head, shoulders, arms, and torso of what appeared to be a man, but he looked as though he was riding on a horse... a horse with no head.

The figure snapped his fingers, and a small puff of brightly-colored, blue-and-pink smoke appeared in his hands, illuminating his figure. Matthew finally got a decent look at the man, and saw a strong-faced, youthful native american man looking down at him, with dazzling tattoos covering his face, chest, arms, and stomach. It was then that Matthew noticed that the man didn't have legs--well, not human legs. At his waist was the neck of a horse, and from there, the body and legs of the beast continued. The man was sort of a native-american centaur, covered in bright tattoos and beaded jewelry.

Matthew tried to speak, but he couldn't find any words to say. The centaur standing before Matthew smiled as he looked down at the frightened human's expression. He spoke in a language that Matthew had never heard before, and yet completely understood, "Do not fear me, for here is where I will bestow upon you the gift of a new opportunity... a new life... embrace it, and you will find treasures no man has ever seen before!" The man clapped his hands, and Matthew felt his clothes fall off of him as he was lifted into a comfortable blue and pink cloud of sparking smoke.

Overcome with shock, fear, and intrigue, Matthew marveled as his body transformed--his body above his waist toned as muscle filled in, and below his waist he became a strong, majestic stallion. Matthew was a centaur!

The smoke lifted, and Matthew was gently placed on all four of his legs back on the road. "Should you get lost along your way, you can find me wherever the wind takes you. Gallop alongside it whenever you need guidance!" And with that, the ethereal centaur disappeared before Matthew, leaving him to take in his new body.

Still a little confused, Matthew picked up the pair of jeans he had been wearing only moments ago.

"Heh..." he said, "I don't think I'll be needing THESE anymore..."
